The Book of Isaiah
Chapter 62
1For Zion's sake I will not be silent,
and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest,
until her righteousness goes forth as brightness,
and her salvation as a burning torch.
2And nations shall see your righteousness,
and all kings your glory.
And [one] shall call to you a new name,
which the mouth of YHWH shall designate.
3And you shall be a crown of splendor in the hand of YHWH,
and a royal diadem in the palm of your God.
4It shall not be said to you anymore, "Forsaken,"
and to your land it shall not be said anymore, "Desolation."
For to you it shall be called, "My-delight-is-in-her,"
and to your land, "Married."
For YHWH delights in you,
and your land shall be married.
5For [as] a young man marries a virgin,
your sons shall marry you.
And [as] the rejoicing of a bridegroom over a bride,
your God shall rejoice over you.
6Upon your walls, Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen;
all the day and all the night, continually, they shall not be silent.
You who remind YHWH — let there be no rest for you!
7And give Him no rest,
until He establishes
and until He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.
8YHWH has sworn by His right hand
and by His strong arm:
"Surely I will not give your grain anymore as food to your enemies,
and surely sons of foreignness shall not drink your new wine
for which you have labored.
9But rather those who gather it shall eat it
and shall praise YHWH,
and those who gather it in shall drink it
in the courts of my holiness."
10Pass through! Pass through the gates!
Prepare the way of the people!
Build up! Build up the highway!
Clear [it] from stones!
Lift up a signal over the peoples!
11Behold, YHWH has proclaimed to the end of the earth:
"Say to the daughter of Zion:
'Behold, your salvation comes!
Behold, His reward is with Him,
and His recompense before Him.'"
12And they shall call them, "The people of holiness,
the redeemed of YHWH."
And to you it shall be called, "Sought Out,
a city not forsaken."
